STROKE DOESN’T MEAN THE END OF AN ACTIVE LIFE
Physical activity is often limited after a stroke which leads to decreased fitness and diminished energy.
Impaired mobility and fitness are common post stroke. Activities such as walking, getting up from a chair and lifting things can be more difficult. Increasing physical activity improves fitness as well as energy and mood.
Physical activity has shown the potential to provide psychosocial benefits, especially when it comes to group activity. At REACH, stroke survivors build palpable connections with each other. We are a community of people who challenge, encourage and support each other on things that only stroke survivors know. Our group activities strengthen our bodies and our minds.
